I would be Spring

If I were a month, I would want to be October
If I were a color, I would want to be pink
If I were a gem, I would want to be the diamond
If I were a flower, I would be a orchid
If I were a season, I would be spring
If I were an animal, I would be a robin
If I were a star, I would be the north star
If I could be anything, I wouldn't be myself

  1. This is a lyrical poem, but, as an English professor, I must tell you that "was" is the incorrect verb tense. You are speaking hypothetically, and therefore the word "were" is correct. I know, it's picky, but it's important.
